Groatie Buckie Tin Candle

Groatie Buckies are also known as a Cowrie shells. Orkney Islands are surrounded by beautiful coastal beaches and during a storm groatie buckies are often washed up on our shores. Locals and visitors visit our beaches to hunt for them and if one or more is found, it resembles good luck. Traditionally, groaties were given out as wedding presents to newly weds as a good luck charm. So, if you ever come across one, pop it in your pocket and you never know what will come your way!
